  1. Growing up, Troy knew he wanted to be a
  2. professional athlete, but his first choice
  3. wasnΓÇÖt football. It was baseball! He was so
  4. good that several scouts for major league
  5. teams wanted to draft him straight out of
  6. high school. But his parents had taught him
  7. that itΓÇÖs important to get a college education.
  8. Troy didnΓÇÖt want to skip college to play a
  9. sport. His only problem was telling that to
  10. the baseball scouts!

  12. The night before the Major League Baseball
  13. draft, Troy got a call from a scout. He wanted
  14. to know what it would take to get Troy to play
  15. baseball. Troy said it would take a lot . . . of
  16. money! He asked for an amount that was so
  17. large nobody would pay it. And that was the
  18. end of his baseball career.
